Industry: Media & Entertainment
Location: Mumbai
Requirement by client:
Trends continue to reshape the media and entertainment industry. Consumer habits are changing, technology platforms are evolving, and the new competition continues to emerge. With an industry constantly in flux, STAR India decided to adapt to the realities of the digital age and approached SISPL to get state-of-art workspace having the best of technology for their new office in Lower Parel, Mumbai.
Their major requisite was a virtually wire-free environment with Bring your Device (BYOD) concept so that anyone can connect anywhere with a click of a button. They wanted a distinct flavor of technology based on the functionality of each room and all integrated with world-class brands to ensure the best performance of the system. Keeping in mind the legacy of Star TV and being the leaders in media and entertainment across the globe, we planned the integration of invisible state-of-the-art technology which was extremely flexible and could adapt to different situations, including the need for live broadcasts.
Challenges faced:
Due to the diverse demographics of the STAR employees, the major challenge with this project was to integrate an AV system that will satisfy multiple users from various departments having innumerable requirements. There were also stringent timelines as various branches were being shifted to this new office with very short notice and they wanted all the integration to be done before the arrival of new employees. Creating a bridge between STAR and the architect to ensure smooth technology functionality without compromising aesthetics of any area was also a tough task.
Solutions offered:
Being a leading media house, they needed to give multiple presentations with dynamic and compelling visual demonstrations. We proposed developing multiple videoconference and presentation capable rooms as well as some unique meeting spaces to coincide with the ultra-modern design of the space which included the below facilities:
Special VC Rooms, Boardrooms and Conference areas with high-end video conferencing systems on Professional LFD and centralized control through iPad.
Interactive Reception Lounge with a mesmerizing large UHD LED TV to delight in the 4K Broadcast of Star Channels.
Preview Theatres for VIP’s, integrated with top-class AV set up to achieve both the aesthetic and functional objectives of the premier shows.
One of the Stand-outs of this project was the Curved Room, an Oval shaped room having an oval projection using geometric and 3D correction with NEC projector and completely wire-free. The immersive dome was a unique part of the project which garnered quite a bit of attention.
We ensured all the facilities were well equipped with the latest audio-visual technology, including multiple screen displays, high-end video conferencing systems, branded projectors, and automation solutions from Crestron allowing an incredible mix of sources while displaying images across multiple screens giving STAR’s employees several unique presentation options. All of STAR’s videoconference and presentation rooms, as well as the theatre room, were equipped with easy to use wireless Crestron Automated Touch Screens, giving the users full control of all A/V functions of the room as well as room lighting and shades. Many of the rooms also feature audio conferencing capabilities which are controlled through the panel as well.
At the heart of these systems are multiple equipment racks fabricated by some of the industry’s best-trained technicians.
“The SISPL team is doing a good job and comprises a team of highly qualified professionals. They recommended great solutions which we had never even thought of. I never thought an audio-visual company could build this kind of experience for us.” – Sumeer Yadav, Sr. VP, Administration & Facilities, STAR India
